Though small, this juvenile is quite fast and can paralyze its prey with one quick bite of its venom-filled fangs. It feeds two to three times a week, spending much of its time between meals napping in small nooks. Although it seems to prefer shady tree holes, it will seek shelter in small caves if no suitable tree is available.
