Clans of Rida Frakasos can be found in prairies and scrubland, where they hunt large prey together. As opportunistic carnivores, they will eat anything they can catch and will even feast on carrion if need be. While there is little sexual dimorphism in Rida Frakasos, females are a little larger than males on average. Clans are often made of several breeding pairs and their offspring, and can range from eight to twenty members on average. Atop the social hierarchy of any Rida Frakaso clan are individuals with horns, with larger horns often signifying a higher place in the hierarchy. Those without horns often navigate social interactions through regular grooming, caring for one another’s pups, and the occasional dominance display. Rida Frakasos seem to avoid violent power displays in general, supposedly to keep from weakening the clan. Despite whatever might happen in the adult hierarchy, the welfare of pups is paramount to the clan as a whole, and pups are given primary access to food and resources.

The creatures that dwell in this rather desolate world still display some diversity in appearance, eating habits, and social behavior. Whether they have fur or feathers, skin or scales, their unique genetic makeup allows for a variety of colors and markings within each species. Despite limitations in food sources, herbivores, omnivores, and carnivores are all present in the food chain, and each species requires specialized care within a laboratory. Although the artificial setting of housing units and breeding pods precludes most opportunities to study true interspecific behavior, the interactions within and between species has been studied extensively in the wilderness by scientists daring enough to venture beyond the outpost’s walls.
