Small and unassuming, this juvenile spends much of its time hidden away and is strongly averse to light. If caught in the open or in bright light, it will freeze and curl into as much of a ball as its back plates will allow. It relies heavily on its caretaker to bring it meals of small invertebrates. This small creature only seems to come alive when stimulated by strong scents, and it is especially reactive to the pheromones from its immediate family members.
